Background

The Mac Pro is an Intel Xeon-based workstation computer manufactured by Apple Inc. The Mac Pro, in most configurations, is the fastest computer that Apple offer and is one of three desktop computers in the current Macintosh lineup, the other two being the iMac and Mac Mini.

It was first released in 2006, replacing the PowerMac G5 series of computers.

The first Mac Pro was based on dual Dual-core Xeon Woodcrest processors. This was replaced by a dual Quad-core Xeon Clovertown model on April 4, 2007, and again on January 8, 2008 by a dual Quad-core Xeon Harpertown model

The Mac Pro 2013 features a totally revamped design with a polished black aluminum cylinder built around a central thermal dissipation core.

Identification

The Mac Pro resembles a traditional desktop computer and has the Apple logo slapped on the side. The 2019 and 2023 models ditched the cylinder design and resemble the Mac Pros from 2006-2012. The housing of the 2019 and 2023 models can be removed by using the hatch on top of the case.
