Background and Identification

The Logitech M331 Silent Plus is a wireless mouse released in 2016. As the name implies, the mouse is designed to make a minimal amount of noise when clicking or scrolling. The top of the mouse has an LED to indicate the battery level and a scroll wheel which can be used as a middle mouse button when pressed down. The M331 is powered by a single AA battery accessed by removing a small plastic plate on the bottom of the mouse.

Next to the battery there is a receptacle to hold the wireless nano receiver when you’re on the go. To use the mouse, plug the wireless receiver into a USB port on your computer; the mouse and receiver will communicate using 2.4 GHz wireless signals. You can manually turn the mouse on and off using a switch on the bottom, but it will automatically sleep when you stop using it for a few minutes.

The M331 comes in black, red, and blue. The sides, which are contoured for your right hand (sorry lefties!), are made of rubber and feature a mosaic of indented triangles. While the M330 is almost identical to the M331, it uses plastic on the sides instead of rubber. You can identify this mouse by looking for the word “M331“ on the bottom.
