Background

The Lenovo Legion line is a popular gaming brand from Beijing, China. They specialize in pre-built gaming computers, laptops, monitors, and peripherals. They revealed their first line of gaming laptops, the Y Series back in 2017 (Y520, Y720, Y920). Lenovo Legion 5 Pro 16ACH6H came out in 2021 (Gen 6). The current line of laptops as of 2023 are on generation 8 and follow three series, the Pro series, Slim series, and 9 series. Each generation has upgraded specs, gen 6 had RTX 30 series GPU, while gen 8 has a RTX 40 series.

The intended audience is gamers, but VFX, 3D renderers can all take advantage of the high specs of the Legion series, especially the CPU & GPU when it comes to rendering. The price of these Pro Series laptops ranges anywhere from $1400-$3400 (CAD)/$1000-$1800 (USD) from the official site.

Complaints about this device include the power brick for the charging cable. Power brick is 300w which is insanely big and heavy for a laptop that's supposed to be portable. Another common complaint for consumers is the track pad. It’s shifted to the left a bit too much which makes your palm always touch the pad when you're typing or playing games (Lee, 2021).
