Background Information
The Leapster GS is a kid-friendly, handheld educational console released by LeapFrog in 2012. This device contains motion-control technology for some of its applications. The device has a USB port and headphone connector. On the face of the device, there is a directional pad, A and B buttons, a Home button, Help button, and Pause button.
The top of the console has Left and Right bumper buttons, along with a Power button and microphone, while the bottom contains a slot for inserting the game cartridge, and a wrist strap connected to a stylus pen. The Leapster GS also has built-in speakers. This console has 2GB of internal memory built in. The display runs 3.5 inches across diagonally and claims to be “shatter-safe.”
You can find a barcode and serial number on the back of the LeapFrog for identification. This is also where you can slide the plastic covers off to change the batteries. There was also an option to buy a rechargeable battery pack from the manufacturer.
The name “LeapsterGS” is printed in green lettering across the top of the display. The device is primarily white with green accents on the right and left sides where the device is meant to be held.
