Background and Identification
The Hiretech Floor Sander model 07004 (also called the HT7) is a disc floor sander/edger that is marketed towards professional users. The HT7 is designed to produce score-free finishes on soft and hardwood floors that require leveling and sanding. The HT7 can also be used on some types of decking, fiberboard, cork, composition, and engineered floors. This model is designed for confined areas such as stair treads, closets, and edges of floors. The sander includes a disc guard with bronze inserts that are designed to prevent damage to baseboards, skirting, and moldings.
The HT7 floor sander includes an ON/OFF switch that is biased to the off-side to prevent accidental start-up. It features a 1.5-horsepower brush motor and a seven-inch metal-backed sanding pad. The sander includes an integrated dust bag and a high-powered vacuum system to collect debris from sanding. The machine also includes storage for a wrench for removing and replacing the sanding pad. The sander vibrates at 2.71 meters per second and the motor operates at 13,000 revolutions per minute. The sander’s disk sands at a rate of 3,300 revolutions per minute.
Hiretech recommends using this sander with P24 to P120 grit sanding pads that are aluminum oxide or silicon carbide with bonding resin over resin with antistatic additives. The sander has a stainless-steel-colored body with black handles.
