Background and Identification
The DD 150-U Diamond Coring System can core up to 6 inches in diameter into and through reinforced concrete. The DD 150-U can be used as a hand-held unit, rig-mounted, and either wet or dry, depending on the material. The system can be used to core through a variety of materials such as concrete, reinforced concrete, brick, concrete block, and natural stone. When used dry, Hilti recommends only coring through masonry base material and using the Hilti Dust Removal System.
The DD 150-U Diamond Coring System includes a 2200-Watt motor with three-speed gearing that is designed to optimize the drilling speed automatically for the various diameters of core bits. The tool’s feed pressure light will change colors to indicate that the user is putting too much, too little, or the right amount of pressure on the bit to maintain productivity. It also features a 360-degree adjustable side handle that includes integrated dust and water management functions.
Hilti recommends wet drilling for coring holes when drilling indoors and in an occupied building (wet drilling controls dust and noise). The DD 150-U Diamond Coring System can be identified by its red body color and the name “Hilti” printed in white capital letters in several places around the main drill and the rig.
