Background
The Hilti Cement Saw DS KC80-14 is a circular handsaw that is a variant of the KC 80 model. It was released back in 2005. The saw is used for cutting concrete or cement floors. The saw has no discovered recalls. There is very little data on this particular saw due to Hilti discontinuing support for it.
The saw shares parts with the DS HS64. The saw uses a 14-inch blade, a two stroke, single cylinder, air cooled engine, champion RCJ4 spark plugs, and Walbro WJ 85 diaphragm/jet carburetor. The saw has two grips (one on the top and another in the back) meaning it's meant to be two-handed. The saw has dimensions of 31.5 inch length, 15.8 inch width, and 8.7 inch height. The saw weighs 25.1 pounds without the blade. The saw uses 3.7 kw of power, its maximum rotation speed is 5100 rpms, and its engine speed is 10000 +- 200 rpms. It has a fuel tank on top of the engine that can hold 0.23 gallons of fuel. The saw is a fairly standard two-handed cement saw so any familiarity with other saw’s operation should translate over to this saw. There are two different versions of the DS HS64, a 12 inch blade version, and a 16 inch blade version. The only real difference between the versions is the size of the blade and the size of the guard.
Identification
Like most Hilti products the DS KC80-14 has a red and black paint job and has the Hilti logo on the side of the engine. The DS KC80-14 is different from other models by the use of a 14 inch blade. There is a grip on the back of the saw with a starting trigger as well as another longer bar grip that runs from the side of the
engine onto the top of the saw with the tank. If all else fails, the tank should have a serial code which you can check online.
