Background and Identification

This product is a large texture sprayer, meant for painting large rough surfaces. It is manufactured by Graco, a fluid-handling systems manufacturer based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Air-powered products are a specialty of the Graco company. In fact, their first product in 1926 was an air-powered grease gun that worked in cold weather, unlike hand powered models. After this first success, the company expanded to other lubricant handling products. Today, they offer a variety of paint sprayer options, from small handheld devices to large sprayers for outdoor use.

The front label of this paint sprayer has the description ‘TexSpray RTX 5000 PI. RTX5000pi is the model number that appears in the operating manual, but the Graco product page has another model number, 17H575, which can also be used to identify this product. The sprayer is compatible with several different materials, including “acrylic texture, drywall mud, simulated acoustic, [and] water-based material,” according to the product page.
