General Wire Drain Cleaner R-SV-D (2014)

The General Wire model R-SV-D “Super-Vee” is an electric drain cleaner that can fit in 5/16-inch pipes up to 50-feet long. The drain cleaner is manufactured by General Wire Spring. It holds up to 50 feet of 1/4-inch or 5/16-inch Flexicore cable or 35 feet of 3/8-inch Flexicore cable. The drain cleaner is designed for sinks, tubs, and laundry drains up to 3 inches in diameter. Additional cutters and accessories can be used for other applications.

The R-SV-D model features a slide action chuck and grip shield that releases or engages the cable and automatically adjusts for different cable diameters. The cable can be removed or refilled by loosening three screws, pulling the front of the drum of the cable, and loading another cartridge. The drain cleaner also features a “Dyna-Thrust” bearing system that is designed to reduce wear on the motor shaft bearing. It weighs approximately 1 pound and produces 2.7-horsepower.

The R-SV-D model can be identified by its orange and silver body. The name “Super-Vee” is printed in white font on a black sticker on the side of the drain cleaner. The tool is made of steel and plastic.
