Background and Identification

The E-Z Trench Ground Saw model EZ9100 is designed to dig small trenches approximately 2.5-inches wide from 0-inches to 13-inches deep. This ground saw can be used for irrigation, LP/Propane gas lines, low voltage electrical wiring, draining, root pruning, and silt fencing (for an erosion barrier).

The model EZ9100 has a centrifugal clutch surrounded by oil that provides protection against extreme conditions. This wet clutch is designed to absorb sudden impacts and reduce belt wear. It also features carbide bits that are designed to cut through tree roots and hard soils. The carbide cutting bits are replaceable in case of breakage. Depending on the soil conditions, the model EZ9100 can cut through approximately one hundred feet of ground in five minutes.

The E-Z Trench Ground Saw model EZ9100 includes a 6.5-horsepower Honda GX200 engine. The EZ9000 model, which is closely related to the EZ9100 model, includes a Honda GX240 engine that produces 8-horsepower, though the two models weight the same amount at 250 pounds.

The EZ9100 model can be identified by its blue frame and red cutter-cover. It also includes two pneumatic wheels and a ‘T’-shaped handle for walking behind the cutter. The words “Groundsaw by E-Z Trench” are printed in white capital letters on the side of the cutter-cover. The machine’s engine is located in front of the cutter’s wheels.
