Background and Identification

The Bedscaper BE400 is a bed edger that is designed to help define and shape landscape flower beds and borders. Depth adjustment is controlled at the handles and throttle of the machine, which can trench up to 7 inches deep. The Bedscaper BE400 can be used for creating curved landscape beds, redefining existing landscape beds, installing metal or plastic edging, installing concrete pavers (paver blade required), installing landscape timbers (paver blade required), and installing low voltage lighting or underground pet fencing.

The Bedscaper BE400 includes two front and two rear pneumatic tires that are designed to roll easily over any terrain. The edger features an adjustable and folding handle so users can adjust the handle to a comfortable height and store the machine more easily. The Bedscaper BE400 includes carbide-tipped cutting blades that are advertised to cut through roots and tough soils. The machine has an oil-bathed centrifugal clutch that is designed to be durable. It can trench at a depth of 2, 3, 4, or 7 inches.

The Bedscaper BE400 model includes a GX200UT2 engine that displaces 196 cubic centimeters (cc) and produces a net power output of 5.5-horsepower at a speed of 3600 revolutions per minute. The engine produces a net torque of 9.1 foot-pounds at a speed of 2,500 revolutions per minute. It can hold up to 0.83 gallons of gasoline and 0.63 quarts of engine oil. Honda recommends using unleaded 86 octane or higher fuel for this engine.

The E-Z Trench Bedscaper BE400 has a blue body and a ‘T’ handle with levers on both sides of the handle. The machine includes a large red box with the name “Bedscaper” on top and the letters “EZ” embossed on the side.
