Background and Identification

Electrotherapy is the use of electrical energy in the treatment of medical conditions. In physical therapy, electrotherapy is used to relax, stimulate, and strengthen muscles, prevent atrophy, and manage pain. Electrotherapy machines are connected to a set of electrode pads, which are attached to the patient’s skin, and then deliver an electric current.

Laser therapy uses light to treat a variety of conditions including cancer symptoms, kidney stones, and nerve pain, among many others.
