Background and Identification

Electromyography (EMG) is a medical procedure used to monitor a patient’s skeletal muscles and motor neurons. To obtain an electromyogram (a reading of the electrical activity), a series of small needles (electrodes) are inserted into a patient’s muscle .A patient may receive an electromyograph to diagnose medical conditions, including muscle disorders, nerve disorders, and motor neuron disorders.
