Background and Identification

The EDCO Pro Walk Behind Concrete Saw model DS-18 is a heavy-duty concrete and asphalt saw designed to cut up to 6 3/4 inches deep. A concrete saw (also called a consaw, road saw, cut-off saw, slab saw, or quick cut) is a power tool used for cutting asphalt, concrete, masonry, brick, tile, and other hard, solid materials. The saw blades used with concrete saws are typically diamond saw blades.

The EDCO Pro Walk Behind Concrete Saw model DS-18 features an anti-vibration engine mount with a screw boot belt tensioner that prevents frame damage. Users can install blades up to 18 inches in diameter. The DS-18 model is sold with either a 13-horsepower engine or a five-horsepower electric motor. The saw’s blade rotates at a speed of 3000 revolutions per minute.

The DS-18 model features a heavy-duty 7-gauge laser-cut steel frame. Users can control the cutting depth of the saw using large screw-type depth controls. Because the saw is a walk-behind model, its wide-T handles include rubber grips for user comfort. The DS-18 model also includes solid-steel lifting handles for loading into vehicles. A water kit with a hose hook up can be used to control dust created by the material being cut.

The EDCO Pro Walk Behind Concrete Saw model DS-18 can be identified by its beige color and the name “EDCO” printed in white letters on a red background on various sides of the machine.
