Background
The Drager MR850 Respiratory Humidifier is used to warm and humidify gases delivered to patients requiring mechanical ventilation, positive pressure breathing assistance, or other medical gases. The MR850 is adaptable to be used for therapies for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients. The device is outfitted with automated flow sensor technology that places the device in standby during periods of gas flow interruption. This device is most commonly attached directly to the ventilator so it can be plumbed in line with the hoses running to the patient. It can also be pole mounted for use in non ventilated patient uses such as humidified nasal cannula and non-rebreather.
There are no known recalls for this device.
There are various software revisions. To determine the software version, enter diagnostic mode by pressing the mute and mode buttons together for 1 second. The diagnostic menu is entered, indicated by the display of two rows of dashes ‘= = =’. Releasing both buttons will allow the diagnostic menu to cycle automatically through the menu, pausing at each function. Pressing the mute button at this time will display the value behind each function for as long as the mute button is held. Scroll through the menu until the letters SoF appear; that will indicate your software version.
