Diathermy is method of physical therapy that stimulates heat in the body through the use of electromagnetic currents to relax muscles and send heat directly to deeper tissues. It can also help relieve pain and increase blood circulation

There are three techniques to applying diathermy: ultrasound (which uses sound waves), short wave (high—frequency), and microwave (can’t penetrate deep muscles).
