Dell G3 15 was released in 2018, marketed as a budget gaming laptop, with a starting price point of $749. It measures around 5 pounds, which was heavier than other laptops at the time.

The general rating is between a 3 and 3.5 out of 5. The Dell G3 15 is reviewed to have good performance, with the ability to handle most games. It is said to have an improved battery life compared to other budget laptops.

When first released, many thought that it was a worthwhile budget laptop with a good battery life and performance, but lacking in display and audio. The main complaint was its dim and fuzzy display screen and overheating. A lawsuit regarding Dell G3 and G5s overheating problems and battery problems began in 2020 (according to Dell G3 and G5 Overheating Investigation). It has not appeared in court yet.

The Dell G3 15 gaming laptop comes in the colors, blue, black and white with a 15.6 inch frame with a blue Dell logo in the middle of the back. Service tag label is on the middle underside. Dell carried a 17 inch version of the G3 and came in blue and black. Other features include:

Thicker with an easily bendable frame.
The charging port, HDMI, Ethernet, two USB 3.1 ports and a 3.5 mm headphone jack are on the left side.
An SD memory card, a Noble lock security slot, and USB 2.0 port are on the right side.
The power button is in the right hand corner above the end key with a fingerprint reader.
