Background

The Rebel T4i is one of Canon's high end DSLR cameras, released in June, 2012. It has now been discontinued and replaced by the newer T5i.

The T4i's biggest improvements over its predecessors is the incorporation of a touch screen, as well as a new CMOS sensor capable of both the new contrast auto focus sensors as well as classic phase detection sensors..

A number of these cameras were recalled due to a manufacturing flaw in the rubber grips, causing them to turn white after a period of time. To check if you have an affected model, put your serial number into this website to see if it is a recalled model.

Identification

To identify this specific camera, look for the "EOS Rebel T4i" logo on the front of the camera.
