Background and Identification

Announced in 2008, the EOS 5D Mark II is a significant improvement over its predecessor, the EOS 5D. With the added functionality of full HD video recording, and a dramatic increase in sensor resolution (21.1 MegaPixels) the EOS 5D Mark II is widely used in the professional photography industry. It proudly touts a 1800mAh battery (an upgrade from the 1390mAh battery in the original) and a three inch, 640x480 display.

The EOS 5D Mark II is clearly identified by its labels on the lens side of the left hand grip. A very common complaint about this camera is about the autofocus; this is a problem with how it is used and is not a defect. Consult your manual and find advice online on how to properly use the autofocus feature on this camera.
