Background and Identification

Blood analyzers, also called blood chemistry analyzers or hematology analyzers, are devices that provide diagnostic information about blood and its components. For example, blood analyzers are used to perform white and red blood cell counts, platelet counts, and to measure the amount of hemoglobin in blood samples. Larger stationary units are often used in hematology laboratories, while smaller portable handheld units have recently been developed for use at the point of care for more immediate results.
