Background and Identification
The Bird 3800 was released in 1991 to be used in conjunction with ventilators to mix the desired spec of oxygen and air, it has the range of 2 LPM to 120 LPM. The Bird 3800 can also be used as a standalone system for mask CPAP, nasal cannulas and resuscitation bags making it quite versatile.
A common question that is brought up with these units is whether they need periodic service. The answer is yes, the manufacturer recommends at a minimum that each unit is tested every 2 years for blender requirements and calibration.
Four different models are available for purchase, regular flow Bird 3800 with DISS fitting is sold as PN: R219P25, regular flow with NIST fitting is sold as PN: R219P25-001, low flow with DISS fitting is sold as R219P24, and low flow fitting with NIST fitting is sold as R219P24-001.
