Background and Identification
Bio-Med’s Crossvent Intensive Care Transport Ventilators are critical care ventilators developed for the critical care of infants, pediatric, and adult patients with respiratory failure or distress moving between health care facilities. Bio-Med Devices, is a Connecticut based company founded in 1970s who’s headquarters is located in Guilford CT. They are an ISO 13485 registered company. They have been designated one of Connecticut's 50 fastest growing technology companies over the past 10 years. Bio-Med Devices designs, manufactures, and markets a complete line of critical care and transportable respirators/ventilators, air - oxygen blenders, ventilation monitors, disposable and reusable breathing circuits, and accessories.
Transport ventilators are used in emergency medical field operations, as well as during interfaculty transfers between medical entities. Unlike ventilators found in an intensive care unit (ICU), transport vents contain critical features that help the device withstand various weather and travel conditions, while still providing optimal patient care.
The Crossvent series of ventilators is available in many variations, for air transport, ground transport, or transport within the hospital Bio-Med Devices, Inc. There is a model that will suit the specific need. From the smallest possible premature infant to the largest adult patient. The Crossvent 3+ and the Crossvent4+ are similar in design and specifications.
