Background and Identification

The Asus Transformer Pad TF300T is an Android tablet computer released in April 2012. The Asus Transformer design includes an optional docking keyboard that “transforms” the tablet into more of a laptop computer.

The Asus Transformer Pad TF300T features a 10.1-inch 10-finger multi-touch screen with a resolution of 1280 by 800 pixels. The screen is not made of Gorilla Glass, so it is more susceptible to breakage. The tablet was sold with 1 GB of RAM and either 16 GB or 32 GB of internal storage. It includes an 8-megapixel main camera and a 1.2-megapixel selfie camera. The Asus Transformer Pad TF300T also includes a 22-Watt-hour non-removable battery, meaning its battery is attached to the inside of the tablet with a permanent adhesive, making repair and replacement more difficult than for non-removable batteries, but not necessarily impossible.

The Asus Transformer Pad TF300T was sold in royal blue, white, and red body colors. The tablet includes the name “Asus” in capital letters in the upper left-hand corner of the tablet’s front bezel. The optional docking keyboard includes full QWERTY keys, a trackpad, and an additional battery that increases the tablet’s overall battery life from 8.5 hours up to 15 hours. There have been reports of the tablet’s screen cracking due to the stress the hinges from the docking keyboard puts on the screen when opening and closing the keyboard.
