Background and Information

The Asus Chromebook C300M was released in June of 2014 by the Asus Corporation, based out of Taipei, Taiwan and was manufactured in China. The screen is large for budget laptops at 13.3 inches and is lightweight at only 3.1 pounds. Out of the box the Chromebook comes equipped with an HDMI port, headset jack, SD card reader, single USB 2.0 or 3.0 port, and a AC power adapter.

For its computing horsepower, the Chromebook comes with an intel Celeron N2830 dual core processor, 16 GB of solid state drive (SSD) memory, 2GB of Ram, an Intel HD graphics card and the computer runs on Chrome operating system (Chrome OS).

The Chromebook has dominated the low cost laptop market and was the 2nd highest selling laptop from Amazon during the 2014 holiday season. Compared to other Chromebooks in the Asus product line, the C300M is the highest quality option and has not yet be replaced by a newer model. It remains a budget friendly device with a suggested retail price of $249, making it a available to many that could not previously afford a laptop.
