These are some common tools used to work on this device. You might not need every tool for every procedure.

Background

The AT&T CL4940 comes with several features, such as an extra large tilt display for easy viewing, an equalizer for customized audio, audio assist, extra large buttons, extra loud ringer, and speakerphone capabilities. The answering system comes with a base, a telephone handset, coiled handset cord, AC adapter, phone line cord, and a wall mounting bracket.

The CL4940 is a corded answering system produced by AT&T. It is accompanied by a corded telephone on the left side of the device and a number/button pad consuming the majority of the center and right side of the device. At the top of the device, there is a tilting screen. There is an AT&T logo located at the top right of the screen. Currently there are two color options for the CL4940, white and black.

The AT&T CL4940 offers more sound options than the previous model, the CL2940. The CL4940 was created to serve in a professional setting, while the CL2940 seems to be for the home user. The CL4940 has an extra row of buttons at the top of the number pad, with functions such as call log, menu, and directory. It also has an equalizer, for sound clarity.

Identification

On the back of the phone, the model number "CL4940" is listed at the bottom of the text box etched on the right side of the device.
