Kraken Depths
The Kraken Depths is a land that is unlocked by collecting 10 Garnet. The depths have Vikings who sail on their boats. They have Orb of the Fish on their boats. The main focus of this land is, though, the Krakens, who move around, and have tentacles. Each Kraken head has the treasure of this land the Sunken Treasure. Killing your first Kraken will also make Sunken Treasure appear randomly on the ocean floor.
Strategies
Krakens have 6 tentacles, and can only move on hexagons. Because of the arrangement of their tentacles, they can surround a player with two tentacles if the player is standing on a hexagon, but can only attack with one tentacle if the player is standing on a heptagon. So it is advantageous to stand on a heptagon while attacking a Kraken. After the first hit the Kraken will retreat, which gives the player the chance to step onto the next heptagon in a circle around the Kraken. Continuing in this way, the player can hit all 6 tentacles and kill the Kraken.
Krakens can easily destroy your boat if you're not careful. You will drown unless you have an Orb of the Fish. Generally, you will want to get an Orb of the Fish, park your boat on one of the small islands, and go diving in the ocean. After killing a Kraken, Sunken Treasure will begin appearing on the sea floor -- they can only be seen and picked up when you're diving; they are not visible when you're on a boat. Orbs of the Fish are also scattered throughout the sea floor so you can dive for extended periods of time.
After collecting 10 Sunken Treasures, the Orb of the Sword, the real orb of this land, will begin appearing. This Orb is a requirement for retrieving treasure from the solid tombs in the Burial Ground.
