Wookiee

UUUUAAAAARRRGGG
—Chewbacca, Wookiee warrior.

Physical Description

Wookiees are rather large humanoids, completely covered with fur. Most of the time, their fur is brown but can range from black to darkish lightish. Wookiees are also quite taller than most humanoids, ranging from 7 to 8 feet taller. Despite their large figure, wookiees are just as agile as the average human, being able to swing on vines without breaking them. with fur covering their entire body, wookiees tend not to wear any clothing other than a backpack or extra ammunition.

History

Wookiees originated on the Mid Rim forest planet of Kashyyyk. In the ancient past, they invented and crafted weapons that fired poisoned darts and arrows. During the Clone Wars and the reign of King Grakchawwaa, the Wookiees remained fiercely loyal to the Galactic Republic and fought alongside them in several star systems. Towards the end of the conflict, Wookiee forces also defended their homeworld from a Separatist invasion with the help of Galactic Republic forces led by Jedi Master Yoda, who had good relations with them.

Society

Wookiees are sophisticated and intelligent, and they live among the treetops of Kashyyyk. They tend to live in a traditional clan system, complete with a chief that oversees it. Wookiees are incredibly violent creatures that are often pulled towards chaotic actions with the slightest provocation. Because this, brawls and fights among both male and female wookiees are common.

Wookiee warriors are feared throughout the galaxy for their strength and intelligence in combat. Their powerful figures also come into play with how they do combat, as most wookiees prefer to wield heavy weaponry. Because of this, and absence of shields in melee combat is prevalent throughout wookiee military. In terms of ranged weaponry, crossbows are a popular choice for wookiees because they are one of the few races that can wield them with ease, and the extra punch they have over bows becomes useful in tight situations.
