The Wheelock Pistol

This exotic style of pistol is comprised of a charge of powder ignited by a spinning wheel of steel being slammed by a chunk of another metal, producing sparks. This style of lock is complicated, and must be rewound by a special mini-wrench after three uses. It is, however, more reliable than its counterparts the match and flintlock, and has a pan cover which covers the powder until the weapon is ready to fire. Due to this pan cover, the wheel lock is mostly impervious to rain (Immersion will still ruin the powder), and it can be concealed in clothing while armed without spilling the powder.

This weapon requires two hands to load, but it can be fired with one hand. It takes one standard action to load it.

If needed, most wheelocks have a weight on the handle that can be used as a bludgeon, behaving like a club with the size value of the wheelock.

DM Notes

Again, traditionalists have called foul on this weapon before, but one of our adventures found a gnome who was working on experiments with a strange powder he called flash-powder, notably, the infernal combustion engine, which shot our party halfway to Silvermoon, before the mechanism clogged and released all the powder at once, creating a truly amazing fireworks display. He gave our Ranger a healthy supply of the stuff along with a wheelock rifle, in exchange for helping him collect the foul ingredients for the powder.

gollark: Blame heavpoot. I am stuck looking at his awful code whenever it does things.
gollark: By character, I think?
gollark: I could turn up the order but I think that might break on the already-trained instances.
gollark: It isn't very coherent, it was only good before because overfitting or something.
gollark: My data is 550KB in size.
