Way of the Merciful Hand (5e Subclass)

Way of the Merciful Hand

These monks have set out to find their center through giving freely of themselves. They travel the lands and seek to close wounds in both the physical and spiritual sense. They have taken an oath to do as little harm to others as possible and show that there is a better way to meet violence than reciprocating it.

Merciful Hand

At 3rd level, upon taking up this monastic tradition, you gain the ability to heal others without the use of a dice roll or ki points. You are given a healing pool equal to 5x your monk level. This resets after a short or long rest. You may use this healing pool to heal yourself or others, but not undead or constructs. You may also choose to expend 5 points of this healing to cure a disease or neutralize a poison. To utilize this healing, you must touch the target. Additionally, you gain the ability to cast the Spare the Dying cantrip.

Mercy's Grace

Also, at 3rd level, you gain +1 to your AC while unarmed (at the start of each turn), however, you lose this bonus as soon as you make an attack(other than a grapple or push). This AC buff increases to +2 at 6th level, +3 at 10th level, +4 at 15th level, and +5 at 20th level.

Peace Before Violence

Starting at 6th level, you may now expend 3 ki points on an attack action (It must be a push attack) to make it a Restricting Strike. On a successful hit with a Restricting Strike, the target must reduce the value of their next attack roll by your wisdom modifier. Additionally, you are now considered to have expertise in the Persuasion skill when attempting to prevent or end a fight.

The Gift of Peace

Starting at 11th level, you gain the ability to disarm attackers of their weapons. When a melee attack is made against you, you may expend 4 ki points to make a Dexterity Saving Throw (DC 16) to disarm the attacker. If the weapon they are holding is two-handed, the DC equals 18. If it has the Heavy property, you have Advantage on the saving throw. If the target is unarmed or a psionic, the DC equals 14 and you knock them prone on a success. On a successful saving throw, you half the damage dealt to you by the attack, or, if it was an unarmed strike or weapon that had the Light property, you take no damage. Note that this only applies to humanoids and creatures that are large or of a lesser size.

The Gift of Silence

Starting at 17th level, you gain the ability to spend 6 ki points to cast Sleep or Silence as a 5th level spell, and you can choose targets (including yourself) up to your Wisdom modifier that are unaffected(Minimum 1). Additionally, all friendly creatures within 20 feet of you (including yourself) gain additional healing from all sources (Spells, potions, uses of lay on hands, and uses of your special healing pool) equal to 2 times your wisdom modifier. (Minimum 2)
