Way of the Frenzy (5e Subclass)

Way of the Frenzy

"I am anger, I am rage, I am your end."

Monks of the Way of the Frenzy harness their anger to fuel their strength, they act first and think later.

Rage

In battle, you fight with primal ferocity. At third level on your turn, you can enter a rage as a bonus action. While raging, you gain the following benefits if you are not wearing armor:

  • You have advantage on Strength checks and Strength saving throws.
  • When you make a melee weapon attack using Strength, you gain a bonus to the damage roll that increases as you gain levels as a Monk, as shown in the Rage Damage column of the Barbarian table.
  • You have resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage.
  • If you are able to cast spells, you can’t cast them or concentrate on them while raging.

Your rage lasts for 1 minute. It ends early if you are knocked unconscious or if your turn ends and you haven’t attacked a hostile creature since your last turn or taken damage since then. You can also end your rage on your turn as a bonus action. You may spend one ki point to extend your rage by one round when you have not attacked or taken damage since your last turn.

  • Once you have raged the number of times shown for your level in the Rages column of the Barbarian table in the Players Handbook, you must finish a long rest before you can rage again.

You may spend two ki points to rage one additional time per long rest but suffer two levels of exhaustion when it ends.

Cage the Beast

At third level when hit in combat if the damage is equal to or higher than your levelx5 you must make a will save with a DC equal to the amount of damage taken, on a failed save you enter a Frenzy as per the Path of the Bersker Barbarian. You can spend three ki points to automatically succeed the save.

Strength of Anger

At third level your Martial Arts damage increases by one dice size during Rage.

Fuel for the Fire

At sixth level you gain six hit points and one additional hit point per level of monk.

Focused Fury

At sixth level you gain advantage to attack those under the frightened condition and you can’t be charmed or frightened while raging. If you are charmed or frightened when you enter your rage, the effect is suspended for the duration of the rage.

Fear the Frenzy

At eleventh level you emit a 30 foot aura of fear while raging. If a hostile creature can see or hear you it must succeed a Wisdom saving throw (DC 10+ your proficiency bonus+ your Charisma bonus) or be frightened until it has left the aura. Any effected creature may attempt the save again on subsequent rounds at the end of their turn.

True Frenzy

At seventeenth level your anger knows no bounds. You gain two addition attacks on your turn and gain resistance to magic attacks while raging
