He bumps his downturned head into someone's back. The priestess of the local chapel, the last person he wanted to see him. As she sees his shame filled face, the priestess gives Malphys a look of understanding and mercy. She hands him a loaf of bread and smiles. As he returns to his home in the slums, Malphys can't help, but smile to himself.

Physical Description

Voidborn Tieflings are really no more an oddity than a normal tiefling, but if you were to ask the latter, they would denounce the former as the truest of abominations. Voidborn Tieflings are born with charcoal grey skin, and most commonly have black or grey hair. Their eyes are always an oily black and their horns are always downturned, rather than upturned. At close inspection, a dim black mist can be seen rising from their bodies.

History

Voidborn Tieflings are somewhat artificially called tieflings as it was not the same infernal compact that created the tieflings that brought this race into being. They were born of no contract, but a curse placed upon them and their posterity by Orcus.

Society

Voidborn Tieflings rarely get along with others, even of their own race. This can be mostly attributed to the hatred thrust upon them by others. Voidborn often choose to live lives of seclusion, as far away from others as possible, as such, adventuring voidborn are fairly rare.

Voidborn Names

Voidborn Tieflings tend to name their children after ideals, either as reminders of the adversity that they will face in life, or an ideal to live up to.
