Void Soul (5e Subclass)

Void Soul

Sorcerer Subclass

Sorcerers who's souls have been touched by the void are able to harness its dark powers to twist reality to their will and move through the shadows unseen.

Veil of Darkness

At 1st level you are able to meld into the shadows when surrounded by it. When you are in an area of dim light or darkness, you can use your action to become invisible until you move or make an attack or cast a spell. Additionally, you can see normally in darkness, both magical and nonmagical, to a distance of 120 feet.

Starting at 6th level you gain the power to partially blink into the void, allowing you to bypass the laws of time. You can use your bonus action to briefly pass through the void, stopping time for everyone but yourself until the end of your turn, applying the same restrictions as the time stop spell.

Gloom Chrysalis

At 14th level, you gain the ability to step into the void. As an action, you disappear from the world for a brief moment and enter the void, taking advantage of its timeless nature. While in your Gloom Chrysalis, you can take two actions to cast spells that target only you. After using those two actions, you return to the space you occupied and your turn ends. Additionally, once per long rest, you can enter your Gloom Chrysalis for 1 minute, gaining the benefits of a short rest.

Twisting Shadows

Starting at 18th level, the darkness that surrounds you empowers you and allows you to warp reality to your will. When in dim light or darkness, you can pass through solid objects as if it were difficult terrain, as long as the area of the object is within dim light or darkness as well. Additionally, you can use your action to cause every nonmagical light source within a 60 foot radius to lessen, bright lights become dim lights, and dim lights become darkness. This effect can last up to 1 minute.
