Void Elf
Many have sought to harness the corruptive magic of the void but most who tried have fallen into madness. The Void Elves seem to draw in the void from around them while resisting its' call to madness most of the time.
Physical Description

Void elves are the result of experimentation by celestials on elves. Void elves skin ranges from extremely pale to dark gray. They boast strong muscular but twisted physiques with black blood visible in their veins. Their eyes are as black as the void or a deep entrancing blue if one has mastered the void. Generally, above six-foot-tall void elves look down upon any other race if they even acknowledge their existence. Their raven black hair is always maintained and flowing with black energies of the void. Most females will wear their hair down or in loosely woven braids. Despite their evil twisted looking appearance most void elves like expensive, elaborate and colorful clothing. Jewelry and weapons decorated with a splash of color or ornate designs. They are usually found with tattoos, scarification's, and piercings.
History
Celestial beings have been around from the beginning of time itself. Throughout all of time celestials' have conducted experiments on all kinds of life forms that catch their interests. Thousands of years ago a high elf magister was in charge of magic training and research. In an attempt to develop a new spell that could conjure the light itself to be wielded by the elves an unfortunate mistake occurred. During the ritual, the magisters mind was influenced by thoughts of agony and loss. The light he held in his hand turned into a black void that radiated imminence power beyond anything he had ever experienced. It disappeared just as fast as it had been there and it drove the magister mad for years as he attempted more rituals while studying ways to learn about what he had discovered. He was eventually exiled along with his disciples for their cruel experiments during their studies. During their exile, the magister was visited in his sleep by a vision of what appeared to be living black energy who appeared as a celestial covered in ornate clothing that he had never seen the likes of. The celestial being offered to transcend them by merging their mind, body, and soul with the void. The Magister and his disciples took part in the mysterious ritual and became the first of the void elves. They called themselves the children of the void as they were now void-infused and capable wielding its immense power. Their happiness was short-lived as the celestial had not told them of the voids call. They found themselves each with an indefinite madness that could not be removed but slowly they embraced this madness and pushed forward. They received a map to a gateway into the void itself so they set forth to the gateway. Once they found and entered the gateway the void elves were in a limbo state that only their new bodies, minds, and soul could endure. They soon built a citadel for themselves within the void. Through their studies, they began to master the void. As they increased their power they learned how to step without any sound, embrace surges in their power, metamorphose and shroud themselves in the voids power and their final feat showing their mastery of the power of the void was when they soul-bound wild void wyrmlings. Soon after their mastery of the void they sought to impose their will on the land of the non-transcended. However, to their approval, their reemergence attracted many other elves to the void. They then developed their society in order of their prior expertise. Due to their increasing numbers, they caught the attention of evil celestial's, believers in the light, and demons all who had the power to attack the void elves in their new home. Void elves seek to utilize their great but dangerous powers for the sake of defending their world and to prove to those who doubt or judge their abilities wrong. All the while resisting the voids' call to madness.
Society
Void Elves as they are few in number have built their society off of their individual expertise. Within the void elf society there are five subraces the: Ren'Dorei who use Charisma and Wisdom, the Ren'Dinoriel who use Strength and Dexterity, the Ren'Alar who use Dexterity and Wisdom, the Ren'Felo who use Intelligence and Charisma, and the Ren'Serrar who use Strength and Wisdom to better the society. The ages spent in the void have shaped the void elves into a people who live passionately and fearlessly. Void elves study and practice void magic for half of the day than practice combat the other half. The void elf society is meritocratic and based on power, the prestige of great deeds and knowledge of the void. While those who have mastered the void live a more lavish relaxed life the entire society is always ready to attack at a moment’s notice. Every void elf has a purpose and they work collectively to combat the voids call to madness, further their own abilities and survive. Most void elves do not fear death and live for the moment, or risk succumbing to the void and fading out of existence, experimenting in all sorts of stimulation and extremes when they are not working. Once a void elf has enough knowledge and practice controlling the void they are allowed the choice to leave or stay within the citadel. While most choose to stay and grow stronger within the citadel a few choose to leave and learn to master the void by their own means. With their fearlessness, desire to kill and to test their strength any subrace of a void elf is a formidable opponent so long as they do not succumb to the call of the void.
