Welcome!

Hello BeastMurder16, and welcome to D&D Wiki! I hope you are enjoying D&D Wiki and have been finding the information here useful. Before you start contributing, we recommend you make sure your user preferences match your preferences.

Questions

If you have any questions about a specific page please ask it on that page's talk page. If you have a D&D-related question, you can ask it on DnD Discussions. Everything relating to D&D Wiki's administration can be asked here. If you need to contact another user, please use their talk page.

Formatting

Syntax can be very difficult, and if you need help a good place to start is Help:Editing on Wikipedia (or even their Introduction page). This will explain basic wiki formatting and should provide quite a few useful links that explain more specific areas of wiki formatting. Help:Portal also provides detailed explanation of information important specifically to this community.

Community

A strong and welcoming community exists on D&D Wiki, and I'm sure you will find us friendly. To enable the community to function, a number of policies are in effect. Most importantly, we follow and expect you to follow Wikipedia's guidelines on civility and etiquette when discussing anything. As most work has multiple authors, please do not delete content without following our removal process. When posting a comment on a talk page, please ensure you sign your name with four tildes (~~~~) or by clicking on the signature icon (). This will automatically produce your name and the date. I hope you come to enjoy D&D Wiki and the community. Welcome again, you are now a D&D Wikian. --BigShotFancyMan (talk) 07:18, 4 March 2019 (MST)

"No Touchy"

BeastMurder16, I would like to bring this to your attention; there is a disclaimer at the bottom of the page when you are editing it, that says (word for word) If you do not want your writing to be edited mercilessly and redistributed at will, then do not submit it here. SO... What I am saying here is that 1. You should have the race on a normal race page and 2. If you seriously want "no touchy" then just screenshot your race or something and then delete it. You COULD put some kind of request on the page for people to not edit it, and some may refrain from edits because they're just that nice. If you seriously want this race to stay on this website but really have no edits, you COULD ask an admin to protect it. I don't know how likely it is for one to adhere to the request, though. --Cosmos (talk) 16:49, 5 March 2019 (MST)

While you did "thank" me for the suggested ideas, you did ignore the first thing that I said in my previous comment; you and your friend should not be publishing items on this website if you and/or your friend is not okay with edits of this race. Note the disclaimer at the bottom of each editing page, which pretty much states that D&D Wiki is a public domain and is subject to any sort of edits, whether the original creator likes it or not. --Cosmos (talk) 06:34, 6 March 2019 (MST)

I’m an admin on this site and would just like to confirm that what Cosmos says is true. One alternative to what he suggests is to move the page(s) into your userspace, where other users are not allowed to edit without permission, other than fixing spelling/formatting errors or an admin enforcing policy. If you don’t know how to do this, I or another user would be willing to help you or do it for you. Geodude (talk | contribs | email)‎‎ . . 09:54, 6 March 2019 (MST)

SRD namespace

Hi BeastMurder16, please stop creating pages with the 5e SRD prefix; that namespace is reserved for the official System Reference Document and denotes official content, so you shouldn’t put homebrew there. Thanks. Geodude (talk | contribs | email)‎‎ . . 19:59, 5 March 2019 (MST)
