Welcome!

Hello Argent Fatalis and welcome to D&D Wiki. I hope you have been enjoying D&D Wiki and I hope you have been finding the information here useful. Before you start contributing it is recommended you make sure your user preferences match your preferences. I help administer D&D Wiki, and everything relating to D&D Wiki's administration can be found here.

Questions

If you have any questions about a specific page please ask it on that page's talk page. If you have a D&D-related question please ask it on DnD Discussions. Other questions should be asked to another (ask me a question).

Formatting

Formatting on D&D Wiki (or any wiki for that matter) can be very difficult, and if you need help a good place to start is Help:Editing on Wikipedia (or even their Introduction page). This will explain basic wiki formatting and should provide quite a few useful links that explain more specific areas of wiki formatting. Again, if you have any questions about formatting on D&D Wiki please ask them as, I imagine, anybody will be more than happy to help you get them answered.

Community

A strong and welcoming community exists on D&D Wiki, and I am sure you will find it rather nice. Most discussions take place on content talk pages, however please feel free to ask specific D&D-related questions on DnD Discussions. Anyway, possibly since discussions are never deleted, people try to be nice. This means follow Wikipedia's guidelines on civility and etiquette when discussing anything. Also, on a pretty different note, to ensure people know who posted what, please sign your name after a post with four tildes (~~~~) or by clicking on the signature icon (). This will automatically produce your name and the date. Anyway, I hope you come to enjoy D&D Wiki and the community and welcome again, you are now a D&D Wikian. --Green Dragon 11:04, 31 January 2012 (MST)

Critique

Argent Fatalis, you have pretty nice work here. Too many folks here don't seem to understand how to balance their contributions, but yours look pretty solid as far as I can tell. Also, I noticed you're doing a lot with Smilodons lately; are you planning on making a full campaign setting? If so, I'd be very interested to see how it turns out. -Silverkin 13:46, 10 January 2012 (MST)

Thank you for your compliments and your interest, Silverkin. I have replied on your User Talk page with greater detail. Once again, thank you! --Argent Fatalis 16:54, 10 January 2012 (MST)

Page Editions

Hi Argent Fatalis, I've noticed that a lot of your 4e feats and powers are using rules from 3e and referencing the 3e SRD. Some powers seem massively overpowered for 4e too (Maim (4e Feat) for example]]). I can describe the balancing issues I've spotted on the individual pages, but I wanted to make sure you were actually wanting to make 4e content rather than 3e. Thanks, Marasmusine 02:17, 11 January 2012 (MST)

Hi Argent, thanks for contacting me. I'll be happy to help you fit your concept into the 4e system, if that's the system you want to settle on, and if can trust me enough to make direct changes to your articles. The biggest issue is that the 4e system is built on the assumption that a player character is a medium-sized humanoid. We can, however, put a "design disclaimer" on the articles, which will indicate to the prospective player that an understanding DM and party is required. In the meantime, the best advice I can give you is to beg, borrow or steal the 4e rulebooks :) I've also recently put together a 4e Race Design (DnD Guideline).
Let me know if you'd like me to start tinkering. Oh... a picture paints a thousand words... is there an image of this creature anywhere? Marasmusine 14:20, 11 January 2012 (MST)

Welcome Back

Hi Argent, welcome back! I will of course assist where possible. I think we had decided to base your race/class combo on an Essentials-style build, and I'm still studying that style. I'm sure we can work something out. Marasmusine 04:15, 2 April 2012 (MDT)

Hi Argent, just noticed that some of your 4e pages refer to the SRD (for example Shatter Resolve (4e Feat)). Note that the SRD is for 3.5e, not 4e, so try and refer to your 4e PHB when making feats etc. I'll fix things if I can as I go. Marasmusine (talk) 10:56, 15 September 2012 (MDT)

New content

Just wanted to poke my nose in see what you had going on; it's been awhile since I was here. I came across some of your stuff I hadn't seen before, the Chaos Warrior and the Psychic Predator, I like what you have going. Keep up the good works, I look forward to seeing what else shows up and disappears from here.

Helpers Page

I am attempting to implement a "Helpers" page to assist users with their problems. If you would like to help other users with wiki problems, simply add all of the following categories that you feel that you could assist in to your User Page. The Categories available are: [[Category:3.5e Balancing Helper]], [[Category:4e Balancing Helper]], [[Category:Proofreader Helper]], [[Category:Flavor Helper]], and [[Category:General Helper]]. If you choose to put one of the above categories, please also add [[Category:Helper]] as well. Thank you, Salasay Δ 13:44, 5 February 2013 (MST)

Trying out

Hey, been a long time. Figured I'd drop in and say hi, also to let you know I'm going to use some of your concepts from here. I wrote up Andarra as a lvl 13, moving some numbers around so it's (hopefully) not loosing it's base strength, but not going to decimate anything or anyone she's put against. The Vanquisher and Challenger Apex are going to show up. I followed the write up straight down the line, so I haven't added, changed, adjusted anything and it's created a few questions, but nothing show stopping. Finally, I found the Elite Primal Striker. I am.... curious about this one. I believeI know who created it, but definatly I know where the idea came from; but it's created a few questions on it's own. Anyway, the point of all this was to say hello and let you know I'm throwing your creations into live gameplay. I'll let you know how they do. --Ravenwng (talk) 14:13, 21 May 2014 (MDT)

gollark: There is empirical evidence of this in that we actually have the the various `aria-` attributes now, and basically nothing uses them, although that might just be because we have plenty of semantic elements anyway.
gollark: If you make it rely on explicit annotations, nobody will actually do this.
gollark: For instance, the scripting language is Lua, storage is... SQLite..., pages are also Lua table notation, and headers are Lua table notation too.
gollark: We're going all Lua here, for purposes.
gollark: Fiiiine, we can reexist forms, but they're subject to cross-origin requirements and they send Lua table notation instead of (ew) x-www-form-urlencoded.
