Unnamed/Incomplete Monk Tradition

Monk tradition option starting @ 3rd level

Powered Punches

When this archetype is taken at 3rd level, you gain the ability to focus your own momentum into a single enhanced unarmed attack.

While making an unarmed attack, you can spend 1 Ki point as a bonus action to increase the Martial Arts damage die 1 size for that attack and add one of the following effects to it:

  • Power Strike: The attack also does 10 points of force damage. At 6th level this is increased to 15 points, at 11th level it increases to 20, at 17th level it increases to 25.
  • Dazed: The target must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, target has disadvantage on attacks and all other creatures have advantage on attacks made towards it until the end of your next turn.
  • Shockwave: Target must make a Strength saving throw. If the target fails, you can push it up to 15 feet away from you.

Precision

At 6th level, your increased momentum allows to sneak through an opponent's guard. When making an unarmed attack, you add your Dexterity modifier to the attack roll along with your Strength.

Counter Maneuvers

At 6th level you gain the ability to use your Ki to tap into your opponent’s momentum and use it against them.

When an opponent misses an attack against you, as a reaction you can spend 1 Ki point to redirect that attack in one of the following ways:

  • Sucker Punch: Make a single attack roll, if you succeed roll normal damage, if you fail they take half damage.
  • Misdirection: If there is another opponent within 5 feet of you, make an attack roll with disadvantage using the opponent’s bonus and damage. If successful, apply half damage. At 11th level make a normal attack roll, but still half damage if successful. At 17th level, make a normal attack and apply normal damage.
  • Sweep: Opponent must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or be knocked prone.

gollark: The mRNA ones are safer *and* cooler!
gollark: They're switching to the mRNA ones for young people I think. Or offering them?
