Uldra

Physical Description

Uldra warrior from the 3.5e book "Frostburn"

Uldra are small and slight creatures. Like elves, they are descended from fey and as such, they have a similar facial structure and the signature pointed ears. Uldra skin ranges from glacial blue to snow white, while their hair is most commonly black or a shade of blue. Their eyes are large and are commonly a combination of several colors. Their hands and feet have three long fingers and a thumb.

History

The uldra were formed in the Feywild by the goddess Hleid. They lived there until Hleid was slain by her nemesis Iborighu. The uldra immigrated into the tundra of Faerun where they live to this time. Small cults of uldra will still worship Iborighu.

Society

Uldra don't tend to create their own buildings, but instead, utilize the natural world for shelter. Because of this, their communities are small, typically fewer than ten members. They are naturally nomads.

Their communities resist any attempt to control or oppress them and usually, the families will come to a decision together.

Uldra Names

Uldra choose their own names shortly after they learn to speak. Their names are most often related to the beauty of the natural world. It is not unusual for an uldra to change their name several times, as they do not give names the same significance that other races might.
