TwinBlade

Twinblades are a lightning-fast fighters that duel wield daggers and short swords to dance around in battle, dodging, parrying and striking in a whirlwind of movement. They are also adept with magic items, enabling them to use scrolls and disposable spell items to assail foes with magical attacks.

Making a Twin Blade

Twin blades can be of almost any personality type, though they tend to work well in groups. They can be effective physical or magical damage, and thus fit in with most combat styles.

Abilities: Twinblades benefit most from having a high Dexterity and Charisma, as these improve their dodging and aiming skills, and their prowess with magical items. Having a high Constitution enables a twin blade to last longer.

Races: Any race able to effectively use daggers or swords may be a Twinblade.

Alignment: Any.

Class Features

All of the following are class features of the Twinblade.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Twin blades are proficient with gauntlets, daggers, daggers(punching), gauntlets(spiked), sickles, kukri, swords(short), kamas, nunchaku, sai and shuriken as weapons. Twinblades are proficient with all light armor and no shields.

Skill Points/Day: A twin blade’s ability to use Skills is limited by the Skill Points he has available. His base daily allotment of Skill Points is given on Table: Twin Blade. In addition, he receives bonus Skill Points per day if he has a high Charisma score (see Table: Ability Modifiers and Bonus Power Points). Certain items and feats may increase the number of Skill Points he has.

Twin Blade Attacks: Twin blades are able to combine magic and lightning fast strikes with their blades. S/he learns all level 1 attacks at level one. At t level 4 s/he learns level 2 attacks, and learns level 3 attacks at level 10. A Twin Blade must have both a Dexterity and Charisma Modifier equal to or greater than 10+ twice the Attack Level to use a twin blade attack.

Level 1 Twin Blade Attacks: Twin blades are able to combine magic and lightning fast strikes with their blades.

Saber Dance As a full round action, the twin blade makes 2 attacks with every melee weapon s/he is holding at his/her highest base attack bonus against a single target. Using this ability costs 1 Skill Point+1 every 10 levels of twin blade and is considered an extraordinary ability.

Staccato As a full round action, the twin blade makes 7 attacks+1 attack/5 levels of twin blade with every melee weapon s/he is holding at his/her highest base attack bonus. Instead of rolling die for damage, inflict damage according to the chart. All set amounts of extra damage (ie, strength, a magical weapon, ect., are reduced as well, rounding down to the nearest maximum equivalent damage.) Using this ability costs 1 Skill Point+1 for every 10 twin blade levels and is considered an extraordinary ability.

1d2 or the same maximum equivalent damage=.5 damage(1 damage for every two hits, round down; min 1 damage 1d3 or the same maximum equivalent damage=.5 damage(1 damage for every two hits, round down; min 1 damage 1d4 or the same maximum equivalent damage=.5 damage(1 damage for every two hits, round down; min 1 damage 1d6 or the same maximum equivalent damage=1 1d8 or the same maximum equivalent damage=1.5 damage(3 damage for every two hits, round down) 1d10 or the same maximum equivalent damage=2 damage 1d12 or the same maximum equivalent damage=3 damage 2d8 or the same maximum equivalent damage= 4 damage 1d20 or the same maximum equivalent damage= 5 damage

Tiger Claw As a full round action, the twin blade makes 5 attacks (Beginning with the main hand and then altering back and forth between the off-hand and main hand consecutively)+1 attack per 6 levels of twin blade. If there is more than one opponent within attack range of the twin blade, s/he attacks in a circle, delivering one attack against each opponent, alternating weapons until all 5 attacks have been made. Drop the die type for damage rolls by two for this attack. Using this ability costs 1 Skill Point+1 for every 10 twin blade levels and is considered an extraordinary ability.

Level 2 Twin Blade Attacks: At level 4 a twin blade is able to endow their special attacks with elemental energy. By increasing the Skill Point cost by 2 points, a twin blade may add negative energy, fire, electric, or deal damage to creatures with the earth subtype as though they were vulnerable. Add 1d4 of the chosen damage each strike if using Saber Dance, .5 damage to strikes when using Staccato or 2 damage to each strike if using Tiger Claws. These attacks are considered spell-like abilities.

Level 3 Twin Blade Attacks: At level 10 a twin blade is able to endow their special attacks with elemental energy. By increasing the Skill Point cost by 3 points, a twin blade may add negative energy, fire, electric, or deal damage to creatures with the earth subtype as though they were vulnerable. Add 1d10 of the chosen damage each strike if using Saber Dance, 2 damage to strikes when using Staccato or 3 damage to each strike if using Tiger Claws. These attacks are considered spell-like abilities.

Two-Weapon Fighting: Twin blades gain Two-Weapon Fighting as a bonus feat at first level, even if s/he does not meet the prerequisites.

Weapon Finesse: Twin blades gain Weapon Finesse as a bonus feat at first level, even if s/he does not meet the prerequisites.

Run: Twin blades gain Run as a bonus feat at first level, even if s/he does not meet the prerequisites.

Mobility: Twin blades gain Mobility as a bonus feat at second level, even if s/he does not meet the prerequisites.

Fleet of Foot: Twin blades gain Fleet of Foot as a bonus feat at third level, even if s/he does not meet the prerequisites.

Spring Attack: Twin blades gain Spring Attack as a bonus feat at fourth level, even if s/he does not meet the prerequisites.

Playing a Twinblade

Religion: As Twinblades may be of any sort, their is no restriction or tendencies on religion for Twin blades.

Other Classes: Twin blades come in many types, and thus it depends on the particular one in question. Often, twin blades get along with characters of any class.

Combat: Twin blades are predominantly physical offense. They are also capable of activating items to unleash potent spells for combat. In the front lines, twin blades deal fast damage and are hard to hit because of their parrying and dodging abilities. As a caster, twin blades are dependent upon items such as scrolls for damage.
