Trunksucker (3.5e Creature)

This flat creature pulses as a long tube-like proboscis guzzles up sap from a gash in a tree, its broad fan-like appendages wrapping around the trunk as a long rigid tail is raised upwards. The end of its tail tapers into a golden diamond shaped organ.

Level Adjustment:

Small, gliding creatures, trunk suckers feed on the nutrient-rich layer that lies beneath the outer shingle of Darwin IV's plaque bark trees. They use powerful, clinging claws to affix themselves firmly to the trees while they draw out sap with their feeding tubes.

Combat:

Trunksuckers are poor combatants, possessing no real means of attack and very little defense besides gliding away and climbing up high.

Stick (Ex): Due to its shape and an adhesive layer of material that lines their feet, a Trunksucker can immediately begin climbing upon a vertical surface after a glide with no penalty or skill check needed.

Glide (Ex): Due to the thick membranes spread between its body and limbs, a Trunksucker can glide for short periods of time. When leaping from a high surface, a Trunksucker glides 40 feet for each 5 feet of descent. Its flight maneuverability is considered poor. When gliding, a trunksucker ignores falling damage, regardless of the height it fell from, though unconsciousness or paralysis of any kind will cause the creature to fall as normal.

Skills:

A Trunksucker has a +4 racial bonus on Listen and Spot checks.

gollark: Intel: "14nm is obviously better than 7nm, right? It's twice as big!"
gollark: I have many anti-Intel memes.
gollark: They're generally behind on price to performance, and have all those !!FUN!! speculative execution exploits.
gollark: I would not recommend Intel.
