Truest Necromancer

—,

Becoming a Truest Necromancer

This class for those that want to delve in to the black art of raising the dead and still compete with tier 1 or 2 classes without giving up the flavor. The problem with Necromancy in D&D 3.5 is that there are no really good prestige classes that go in to making a necromancer. You could always cheese with Ur-Priest, or play cleric or wizard but at that point you are just playing a regular spell caster with necromantic tendencies. So here is a class that really embraces all aspects of the dark art.

Class Features

. All of the following are class features of the .

Spellcasting: At each level, a Truest Necromancer gains new spells per day (and spells known, if applicable) as if she had also gained a level in a spellcasting class to which she belonged before adding the prestige class level. She does not, however, gain any other benefit a character of that class would have gained. If she had more than one spellcasting class before becoming an Truest Necromancer, she must decide to which class to add each level for the purpose of determining spells per day and spells known.

Mass Animate Dead: At first level a Truest Necromancer has the ability to cast cast Animate Dead as a AOE spell instead of as a targeted spell. You can now cast Animate Dead on corpses in a 30ft radius. Total HD can not exceed twice the Character Level. Undead control count against his max undead HD control cap.

Rebuke Undead: A Truest Necromancer has the ability to rebuke undead. Class levels stack with levels of all other classes that grant the ability to rebuke undead for the purpose of determining the character's effective Cleric level for rebuking. See Turn or Rebuke Undead, page 159 of the Player's Handbook. For example, a 10th-level Cleric/4th-level Truest Necromancer rebukes undead as a 14th-level Cleric.

Improved Undead Creation: At second level a Truest Necromancer can cast an improved version of Create Undead. Improved Undead Creation raises one creature with a max HD of 1HD per character level. This spell has the same material cost as Animate Dead (25gp black onyx per caster level) as well as any special cost that are specific to each undead. Creatures created this way come under control of the Truest Necromancer automatically HD is counted towards their max Animate Dead HD count. Undead Also gin Untyped bonus to all stats and damage in tiers. 2nd +1/3 caster level 10 Str, Dex, Int, Wis, Cha 4th Gains Unholy Toughtness, 30ft to all movement 6th Natural Armor +1/2 caster level 8th Undead get 1/4 caster in 2d8 caster level in damage plus fast healing 5

Create Undead (Sp): At third level, a Truest Necromancer can cast Improved Create Undead once per day without paying the black onyx cost. She still needs to pay the unique costs. This increased to twice per day at fifth level and three times per day at seventh level.

Greater Rebuking: At fourth Level A truest Necromancer can add +2 to his effective rebuking level. This bonus increases to +4 at ninth level

Shadow Realm (Su): At fifth level a Truest Necromancer has delved deep enough in to the darkness to find his way in to the shadow realm. As such she is able place some of her undead forces in her own shadow. A Truest Necromancer hand hide up to their Control Cap of undead in his shadow. The Undead in his shadows are undetectable without a detect evil spell/spell-like ability or a DC35 spot check. Intelligent undead can be taught to enter and exit shadows instantly, unintelligent undead (int of 3 or less) must be taught as if teaching a trick using Knowledge(religion), DC 20, instead of handle animal. Exiting or entering the shadow is a full round action.

Improved Greater Undead Creation: At sixth Level A truest Necromancer can cast an improved version of Create Greater Undead. This spell has the same improvements as Improved Create Undead except the undead created can have 1HD per character level + 5.

Create Greater Undead (Sp): At eighth level, a Truest Necromancer can cast Improved Create Greater Undead once per week without paying the black onyx cost. She still needs to pay the unique costs.

Animate Aura (Ex): At 9th level, A Truest Necromancer gain one of the listed Aura, Aura of Animate Or Aura of Create Greater Undead, Undead made from the Aura fall under the control cap of the necromancer. Each aura gain bonus of class effects while working how the spell normally used. Example Aura of Create Greater Undead, Bodies need to stay in aura for radius for an hour. Each Aura is 60ft normally under the condition of desecration aura range increases by 60ft, Under the condition of Unhallow range is increased 120ft.
