Trollborn (3.5e Race)

Trollborn

The only non-human race in the Viking milieu, the trollborn are half-human children of a spirit creature known in the Viking world as a troll. These trolls are completely unlike the monster of that name. Trollborn are a single-generation phenomenon: a human/troll pairing will have trollborn offspring, but the child will grow within human society and have children who will be regarded human, although there may be residual prejudice against those with troll blood in their ancestry.

Physical Description

The trollborn are noted for strength and cunning, some as warriors and others as sorcerors. Although they are similar enough to humans, they are generally ugly, muscular, tall, stocky, and ill-tempered, and so are usually easily discriminated from humans. They may easily reach seven feet tall.

Relations

They tend toward rugged individualism and isolationism. Common people who deal with them at all do so with respect.
