The Newbie (3.5e Class)

The class is being made for level ZERO characters, this is to teach people who have never played DnD before the game.

After making your character, it is intended for 1 on 1 sessions with the DM , learning how to use the character sheet, and the players hand book.

Getting to level 1 should only take 2-3 sessions.

Class Skills: There are no bonus skill points for "leveling" The Newbie, besides class features and race Craft (Int), Handle Animal (Cha), Hide(Dex)Profession (Int), Search(Int), Swim(Str), Use Rope(Dex).

All of the following are class features of the :

Illiteracy

You are a commoner, and cant read. you can spend 2 skill points to remove this flaw.

2 Skill Points

Every Advancement you get 2 skill points to get a skill rank(s) or language (2 points each)

Spontaneous casting

For the Newbie with a casting ability in Charisma or Wisdom, casting spells is a spontaneous act. Rest is required to regain your spell slots but you can pick from your own cantrips anytime.

Prepared casting

For the Newbie with a casting ability in Intelligence, casting spells is a prepared act, you must pick your spells and rest. This requires 8 hours of sleep and 15 minutes of study your spell book per spell slot per day (15 minutes per cantrip).

Ability Feature

When you make a character, look at your ability scores. Your highest ability score becomes your ability feature as defined below.

In the case of a tie, player picks at creation which score to follow.

Time To Pick A Class

Your done, your survived learning the basics of how to play D&D. It is between you and the DM weather this character returns to the farm they came from OR carries on. I encourage at this stage when you pick you real first class for the DM to allow you to keep what you have earned above as a bonus. Noting you already have all your race features for level 1.
