The Force, also known as the "Ashla" or simply "It" to some circles and peoples, is an energy field that connects every living thing on a planes of existence. The Force is generated by all living entities; therefore, the Force resides in all lifeforms. Unlike organic beings, constructs and other artificial creations exist outside of the Force. As such, they possess no connection to the energy field that is created and sustained by life. The Force as a recorded concept has existed for well over twenty-five thousand years. There are multiple aspects of the Force. The Living Force is fueled by the energies of all lifeforms and, in turn, feeds into the Cosmic Force—the Force that binds everything together and communicates with those whom are connected to it. A certain aspect of the Force was referred to as stonepower; its power is derived from a blue stone imbued with the Living Force.

"In darkness, cold. In light, cold. The old sun brings no heat. But there is heat in breath and life. In life, there is the Force. In the Force, there is life. And the Force is eternal." The Sunset Prayer of the Guardians of the Whills.

The Living Force The Living Force represents the energies of all lifeforms, and those energies are fed into the Cosmic Force that binds the galaxy together and communicates to individuals. Though only certain individuals were Force-sensitive, the Force resides within all living things and can be extracted. Because of this, Force-sensitives can feel a "disturbance in the Force" whenever there is a great loss of life. Constructs, however, being mechanical creations, could never sense the Force.

The Light Side The light side of the Force, also known as the Ashla, is an aspect of the Force. The light side is aligned with calmness and is used for knowledge and defense. The Jedi are notable practitioners of the light, and are the mortal enemies of the Sith, who follow the dark side of the Force. Those who follow the teachings of the light side of the Force live lives of sacrifice, humility, passivism and hunger for knowledge. Both worldly knowledge and knowledge of the force. Temples, churches and monasteries are built to house the knowledge and sacred texts of the light side of the force, as well as to house the followers of the light side and teach them of it's ways. Followers of the light side became known as Jedi, a noble sect of sages and warriors, who fight to uphold the principles of justice, honor, truth and life. As opposed to those who follow the dark side of the Force, those who follow the light draw their power from serenity and peace that is gifted to them by the Force. This peace can easily be disrupted, and requires years of training to reach full mastery and connection to the Force.

The Dark Side The dark side of the Force, also known as the Bogan, or simply as The Dark Side, is yet another aspect of the Force. Individuals who use the dark side drew their power from more intense, raw and darker emotions such as fear, anger, hatred, passion, and aggression. The Sith are major practitioners of the dark side, and are the mortal enemies of the Jedi Order, who followed the light side of the Force. Although Jedi are taught to follow the light side of the Force, the dark side is considered seductive, and a Jedi has to maintain vigilance in order to avoid falling to the dark side. Even a Jedi raised in the traditions of the Jedi Order from birth can quickly be corrupted by the lure of the dark side in certain situations. Despite this, while the Jedi often described the dark side as a "quick and easy path," drawing upon its power does not necessarily come with ease or without cost to those who possessed strong compassion and are not used to drawing upon feelings such as hatred. Use of the dark side by somebody with generally good intentions in a moment of weakness could leave that individual feeling weak and shivery, with a general feeling of wrongness. If the presence of the dark side was significantly powerful, nearby Force-sensitives often feel the sensation of cold, alternatively, the strong presence of the light side causes nearby Force-sensitives to fell a comfortable warmth. Followers of the Dark Sides of the Force, or Siths, do not traditionally have temples, churches or monasteries. Though they can infiltrate and corrupt places the house and protect the light side, Siths usually have a shrine or specific place of great significance that they worship and pray at to learn more of the force and find others with their ideals.

The Sacred Texts The sacred texts are a collection of books and scrolls kept within places of worship. They are said to contain ancient scriptures, wisdom and abilities. The texts are cornerstones of the religion built around the force. Every temple, monastery and church houses a copy of these texts, which are to be read only by those who are force-sensitive.
