Way of the Demonic Arts
Monk Subclass
Ki is magical energy typically found and tapped from within living bodies, but sometimes after death some of this energy remains as residue. This residue is most notably found in walking corpses where the spirit has been provoked to walk the earth again. This is also known as resentful-Ki. Chained back to the land of the living by resentful toughts. The Way of the Demonic Arts practices the use of this residual energy. This art is unorthodox to the normal monk and should be practiced with great care.

When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in one of the following skills of your choice: Arcana, History, Religion or Performance. You gain proficiency with a musical instrument of your choice.
Resentful-Ki Manipulation
3rd Level Way of the Demonic Arts feature
Resentful-Ki detection Your sense of Ki allows you to detect resentful Ki. Resentful Ki can be detected in recently killed creatures(up to one day old), undeads, mass graves, haunted areas and corpses of creatures whose spirit has not passed over yet. As an action, you can open your awareness to detect such sources. Until the end of your next turn, you know the location of any corpse, undead or haunted object within 60 feet of you that is not behind total cover. You know the type (corpse, undead, object) of any source whose presence you sense, but not its identity (the vampire Count Strahd von Zarovich, for instance). Within the same radius, you also detect the presence of any place or object that has been consecrated or desecrated, as with the hallow spell.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to 1 + your Charisma modifier. When you finish a long rest, you regain all expended uses.
Repurposed Ki You may use resentful Ki to fuel your Ki features instead.
Resentful-Ki and Body You may store an amount equal to 1 + your Wisdom modifier of resentful-ki into yourself without any problem. As an action you may store resentful-ki in a circle with a radius of 30ft around you by channelling it into yourself. You do this by rolling a wisdom saving throw against a DC of (10 + 1 per sources of resentful-ki nearby) or a DC by DM's choice. On a success you may choose the amount of resentful Ki to store, on a fail you attempt to store all the resentful-ki into yourself around you in a circle with a radius of 30ft centered on you up to the double of your maximum capacity of resentful Ki.
Backlash Storing resentful-ki above your capacity causes it to backlash on you. At every end of your turn while over your capacity, lose one point of resentful Ki and take necrotic damage equal to your martial arts die roll. If you attempt to store resentful Ki at double of your maximum capacity, you become possessed by the owners of the residual thoughts of the resentful-Ki. The possession ends automatically when your amount of resentful-ki stored is equal or below your maximum capacity. Outside of combat, an amount of resentful-ki down to your maximum capacity is expended and you take necrotic damage equal to your martial arts dice times the amount of resentful-ki expended.

Inquiring Tune
You may cast speak with dead at will by performing an inquiring song instead of expending spellslots and materials once per short rest or long rest.
Sound of Vanquish
You know a short melody that exerts force.
As an action you may unleash a battle melody fueled by two ki-points. Each creature in a 15-foot cone from a point up to 10ft away from you, must make a strength saving throw. An affected creature is pushed back 10ft away from you, 5ft otherwise.
While playing an instrument as a bonus action you may mix in this short melody and perform "Sound of Vanquish".

You can now cast bestow curse at level 3, by spending 3 Ki points instead of spellslots and materials once per long rest.

You can create a talisman that is able to store Resentful Ki.
Creating the Talisman
It takes 50Gp to create a brand new talisman with the capacity of 2. It gains 1 additional capacity per upgrade.
The table below shows the gold costs and resentful ki that needs to be expended for each upgrade.

11th Level Way of the Demonic Arts feature
By performing a grim song you can manipulate the resentful Ki thats left in undead creatures.
Tune of the dead
With an instrument ready and as an action by playing the instrument, around you in a circle with a radius of 30ft you can take command of undead by spending a Resentful Ki-point per targeted undead. The targeted undead must make a charisma saving throw. On a failed save you gain command over the creature, otherwise you gain only its attention. With undead under your command and with an instrument ready, as an action you may issue simple commands as per the command spell through music to undead under your command. The undead may oppose your command once per turn and roll a charisma saving throw against your spell save, on a success it breaks free of your command.
This feature takes up your concentration and your action each turn in order to keep the music going. You may only take command of undead with a challenge rating up to a threshold of 2. This threshold is increased to 3 at 14th Level and 4 at 17th Level.
Awaken feral undead
You can wake small/medium/large corpses by infusing it with one Resentful Ki-point. You do this by whispering "wake up" next to it or by slightly touching it. The corpse turns into a feral undead with no common sense. It can't speak languages, it can't understand language, but it remembers its last thoughts before death. This new undead uses its original statblock from when it was alive with its intelligence score set to 4.
Stygian Ghost Talisman
17th Level Way of the Demonic Arts feature
As an action, with an instrument ready, and by expending a resentful-ki-point from your amulet per target, you take total control over corpses around you in a circle with a radius of 30ft through music. Targeted corpses are raised as undeads using their original statblock. existing undead targeted by this must make a charisma saving throw against your spell dc+2, on a success you gain total control over it, it resists the effect otherwise.
This feature takes up your concentration and your action each turn in order to keep the music going. You can take total control of undead with a challenge rating up to a maximum of 4.

Song of Evocation
You may cast speak with dead at will by performing an inquiring song instead of spending materials or a spellslot.
The performance must roll against a dc of 16 or by DM's choice. On a fail nothing happens, on a success the spell is cast.
Song of Rest
You know a song that calms the spirit. While playing this tune, disturbed creatures will calm down and go back to their senses.
As an action you may roll a performance check against each affected creature's wisdomsave. on a failed save the creature calms down. on a successful save nothing happens.
Sound of Vanquish
You know a short melody that exerts force and exorcises.
As an action you may unleash a battle melody fueled by up to three Ki points, by rolling a performance check against the affected creatures dexteritysavingthrow. On a failed dexsave, affected creatures are pushed pack 5ft from you. On a success nothing happens. Undeads take radiant damage equal to the amount of Ki spent times your martial arts die on a failed save and half on a success.
You may fuel this melody with resentfull-Ki instead. by fueling it with resentfull-Ki the melody will only harm instead. All affected creatures take force damage equal to the amount of Ki spent times your martial arts die on a failed save and half on a success.
