Awesome

I know it's not finished, but I love this prestige class. I always wanted a character who could use dancing weapons like this. A preemptive congratulations to you. I think this prestige class is really cool. I do wish, though, that the other benefits came before 10th level (Everdance, if it is what I think it is, in particular). I think this could even be a cool martial base class. - ThunderGod Cid 12:54, 2 May 2009 (MDT)

Thank you for your interest, I'm really proud of this class too. I feel however that since everdance is indeed a an epic level ability, it should be saved for epic level. Most combat last maybe 10 rounds, so the round use of the weapons is not really inhibiting, since even if time runs out, all he'll have to wait is four rounds. Do you have any other suggestions?Summerscythe 10:09, 4 May 2009 (MDT)
Not particularly. The class is very well put together already, with good balance, nothing overpowered, and very flavorful. I'll rate it highly when it's finished. - ThunderGod Cid 19:01, 4 May 2009 (MDT)

New Ability Question

I'm thinking about granting the ability to let one of the swords do a fient attack once per round, do you think adding this ability is overpowered?Summerscythe 22:42, 4 May 2009 (MDT)

I think it's pretty fair, so long as it follows the rule that only one attack can be made that denies the target his Dexterity bonus. I'm not sure how useful it would be, though; to me feints were always best used with a rogue class so you could apply sneak attack damage. It doesn't seem particularly helpful from the standpoint of a fighter/wizard prestige class beyond improving your chance to hit for one attack. - ThunderGod Cid 15:32, 5 May 2009 (MDT)

Rating

Power - 5/5 I give this class a 5 out of 5 because dancing weapons can be useful, and I can just picture a rogue with a 1 level dip into wizard coming out with 4 greatspears and sneak attacking everything in play. Rith (talk) 09:14, 24 May 2009 (MDT)

Wording - 5/5 I give this class a 5 out of 5 because this class is generally easy to understand. Rith (talk) 09:14, 24 May 2009 (MDT)

Formatting - 4/5 I give this class a 4 out of 5 because only one section of the preload is missing, making it worth a 4. Rith (talk) 09:14, 24 May 2009 (MDT)

Flavor - 5/5 I give this class a 5 out of 5 because I must say, I find this class interesting to visualize. It might be good to give the weapons the ability to flank with themselves or other players actually. Rith (talk) 09:14, 24 May 2009 (MDT)

Changes

I really like the prestige class and here is some advice. Take it or leave it, I won't be offended either way. I think there should be some restrictions on the weapons that can be used. I would propose a limitation to One-Handed and Light weapons only being beneficiaries of the Dancing ability. I understand that technically the Dancing ability can be applied to any weapon, but the class seems to be about flashy panache. Dancing Great Swords don't really seem to fit.

I feel like the requirements are a bit on the light side. Proficiency in Martial Weapons and maybe Perform (Weapon Drill) 8 ranks from Complete Warrior would seem like good additional requirements. Combat Casting is something I would also consider as a requirement.

Also, I feel that the Threatening Dance ability is liable to slow down combat and add significant book-keeping. How about instead saying: If a blade is within 5 feet of the Waltz of Blades, it threatens all surrounding squares.

Again, I won't be offended if you decide it's all trite. I really like the prestige class.

Munchkin Size Me

I am combining this class with a rogue/wizard/invisible blade/dagerspell caster to kill everything, just the awesomeness of this is off the charts, good creative class.--Sneakydino (talk) 14:38, 4 November 2012 (MST)
