Talk:Ruffian (3.5e Class)

Rating

Power - 2/5 I give this class a 2 out of 5 because it is quite overpowered compared to most 3.5 base classes. With full base attack bonus, two good saves, 6 skill points per level and a d10 hit dice, it's already looking better than a lot of other classes. By 20th level the ruffian suffers no penalty to attack while fighting defensively; essentially this gives them a constant +4 to armor class. Their drunken euphoria ability also has no limitations, so they will essentially have a +6 to armor class (for a total of +10) and a +6 to attack rolls at all times. The unarmed attack damage rivals that of a monk's, and with the class's higher base attack bonus makes it a more powerful replacement. On top of this already overpowered build, there are bonus feats gained every three levels (6 total) and brawling maneuvers as well (7 total), which when combined equal out to more than a fighter's feats. This class is a fighter with more feats, a second good save, 4 more skill points per level, a permanent +10 armor class and +6 attack by 20th level, unarmed attack damage, and a few additional class features. It is vastly overpowered. --24.84.218.238 21:59, 24 January 2010 (UTC)

Wording - 3/5 I give this class a 3 out of 5 because the wording of the class features are quite vague. Particularly drunken euphoria which basically says "When you're drunk you get a bonus to attack and armor class" with no further explaination --24.84.218.238 21:59, 24 January 2010 (UTC)

Formatting - 2.5/5 I give this class a 2 out of 5.5 due to the rampant grammar and spelling mistakes ("Ruffians tend to be atheists or agnostics or two drunk to actually care.", "unvoluntary", "repitoire", "Sebsequent", etc) --24.84.218.238 21:59, 24 January 2010 (UTC)

Flavor - 3.5/5 I give this class a 3.5 out of 5 because despite the flaws, it really does sound like an interesting class. Although the class does seem like it was designed with a player's mindset of trying to make a cool class, the concept of a drunken fighter with brawling maneuvers is an interesting one, especially since the Drunken Master prestige class is not very "flavorful". --24.84.218.238 21:59, 24 January 2010 (UTC)

I guess that's what happens when you let someone else work on your work. But then again I kind of abandoned this class because I couldn't see it working well. --Sulacu 23:40, 27 January 2010 (UTC)
gollark: It's lagging for me, yes, which is very annoying when I'm trying to get eggs.
gollark: Has anyone named one "Elon Musky" yet?
gollark: I've seen two leetle trees in a few hours of hunting, but not a single xenowyrm.
gollark: But yes, quite neat.
gollark: I'm not really a fan of holiday ones.
