Talk:Reworked Ninja (3.5e Class)
Awesome class! when i first saw it thought it was just going to be a suped-up rouge, but this is pretty cool --User:Kisame93 | Ryan B. 16:29, 12 April 2008 (MDT)
- Thanks. I'm glad you like it. I can understand why you'd think the way you did, but of course, a high-powered rogue just isn't fun to play, so it's cool we see eye to eye. Once again, thanks for the feedback.
This class is really cool but it seems a little bit overpowered, i'm not actually sure why, but i think it's because of the stealthy strike feature but again, i'm not sure. Also, i'm not sure how two things work: Ghost Hop and Armor-Ki Synergy: for Ghost Hop, can you expend more than one charge to get more dodge and reflex bonuses?(or what type of bonus is it?) And for Armor-Ki Synergy it's only after masterwork and not magic right?
- Well, for one thing, you couldn't technically take ghost hop twice, even if you wanted, because you get only one swift action every turn. Even if you could, no, you couldn't spend more because these are like the other ki-based abilities in that once you get the effect, that's it. Spending more is redundant. As for the bonuses, the AC bonus is a dodge bonus, while the Reflex bonus is untyped (meaning it stacks with all other bonuses)
- As for armor-ki synergy, it's ANY armor with no armor check penalty. In other words, regular studded leather wouldn't work, but masterwork (or, by extension, magic) studded leather does because armor check penalties for masterwork armor are reduced by 1. It's actually a bit simpler than it reads.
--Hanzo187 - thanx i didn't realize that ghost hop was a swift action
- Does anyone know how much you have to change from a base class not to get sued by WotC? Because this is really similar to ninja from Complete Adventurer. --Ganre 15:37, 29 May 2008 (MDT)

Power - 0/5 I give this class a 0 out of 5 because the class as written is overpowered when compared to a Rogue or a Monk, or the original Ninja. "The Path I Walk" simply gives far too many, too powerful options for a base class. I understand Sudden Strike, the ability actual Ninja get is limited, however, inventing another form of sneak attack isn't the answer to that. To improve this, weaken the abilities granted by "The Path I Walk" by changing them to static abilities - as this seems to mimic the Rogue "Special Ability" ability gained at level 11+. There is a reason that there is only one way to add wisdom to AC while wearing armor (Saint template) and that's a level adjust 2. --Christof 05:07, 15 December 2010 (MST)
Wording - 2/5 I give this class a 2 out of 5 because I can see there is effort put in, however just not enough to bring it in congruency with what currently exists. --Christof 05:07, 15 December 2010 (MST)
Formatting - 3/5 I give this class a 3 out of 5 because I have no complaints with the format. --Christof 05:07, 15 December 2010 (MST)
Flavor - 1/5 I give this class a 1 out of 5 because it isn't anything new, that is to say it isn't a new idea by any means. It's just a more powerful version of rogue. --Christof 05:07, 15 December 2010 (MST)

You took a ninja and added abilities, didn't take any away any. Better than sudden strike, better BAB, more abilities. This doesn't qualify as immaginative or adding anything to the game.
