Talk:Researcher (5e Background)

Article Spotlight

Researcher! That's what I've been handed and will do my best since I am not a fan of homebrew backgrounds.
This article is more than complete. The community has whipped up full and thoughtful characteristics for this background. There is a decent description and the feature isn't too bad. I myself enjoy characters that are like this, but not exactly this. D&D is adventuring to me! Who wants to play a character that sits in a library? Maybe that's the issue with the article; it is written as though you are going to be this vs as a background. Something that your character was or did. Again, I do think this was put together very nicely. It is a few years and only received a handful of edits the last year or so and could possibly be a quality article. gollark: It seems that you explicitly suggested it was good because it gave more power to rural people than they would otherwise get based on population.
gollark: According to my badness determination metrics.
gollark: What I am saying is that deliberately designing an electoral system and then messing with it so that a particular group consistently gets outsized amounts of power is bad, and that it isn't particularly justified based on "cultural differences" because there are lots of culturally different groups.
