Talk:Monster Ball (3.5e Equipment)
Broken Balls and Magical Beasts
This is a very well made item. However, it should probably give rules on what would happen when the Monster Ball is broken with something inside it. Also, perhaps it should also be capable of holding magical beasts, to reflect the extraordinary nature of the creatures it is referencing? --Daniel Draco 13:52, 2 February 2008 (MST)
- Err... Pokémon??? Time for me to back away slowly... --Sam Kay 14:31, 2 February 2008 (MST)
- I knew I forgot something, dealing with broken balls. Adding now. As far as magical beasts, I was considering it. I did want to avoid having it be used as a primary weapon (and to justify what is a 50% reduction in cost if you follow the magic costs to the letter) so I limited it to animals, but Magic Beasts wouldn't be too unbalancing, they are mostly animals. Also... (proceeds to stalk Sam Kay). :D -- Eiji 14:48, 2 February 2008 (MST)
- Alright, I may be getting into the realm of nitpicking at this point, but what should happen if a ball is broken in an area too small to hold the contained creature? --Daniel Draco 19:21, 2 February 2008 (MST)
- Physics plays a important role? -- Flession 23:55, 2 February 2008 (MST)
- Closest rule I can find is that of teleportations. 1d6 damage and shunted off to the nearest 100', repeat until clear. Adding it now.
- (EDIT: Lowered the price more after seeing Mirror of Life Trapping, eyed the price instead. Also fixed typos. Discussions on if this is a fail price wanted.) -- Eiji 23:57, 2 February 2008 (MST)
- Run away! [takes a leadership check with 2d6 on my leadership of 10-5 due to scary Pokémon- rolls 7]. Flee 2d6 inches! --Sam Kay 02:54, 3 February 2008 (MST)
- He's escaping! After him, I choose you Tarrasquechu! (ROWLS!) Go Tarrasquechu! Thunderswallow attack! -- Eiji 03:28, 3 February 2008 (MST)
- Leadership check to rally. No musician. Within 6" of terrorfying creature... erm. Terror test first- Ld 10, -5 due to scary Pokémon- 5. Rolls 3. Ld check to rally- 12. Flee 2d6"- 12. Goodbye! [leaves the board] --Sam Kay 05:12, 3 February 2008 (MST)
- might I suggest adding the other pokeballs? I'm going to add them under a section labaled for them and if they are not liked then they can be taken out
gollark: What?
gollark: What's wrong with just having `bytes.push`... functions or whatever, like the io.putchar ones?
gollark: We should just switch entirely to unix timestamps and kilo/mega/gigaseconds.
gollark: Do you REALLY need SYMBOLS for those?
gollark: Syntax ideas how? Do you want an idea for bytechunk literals?
