Talk:Medic (5e Class)

Overall, the class is hard to read and difficult to understand/incorporate. The suggested changes above will help with the clarity and overall readability. After we can deal with other issues like comparative balance and such. ConcealedLight (talk) 02:31, 11 August 2018 (MDT)

Thanks, I'll get onto it. Babosa (talk) 15:29, 12 August 2018 (MDT)
A few questions:
  • When you say the template {{Design Note|(your note)}} should be used for author notes, do you mean Spare Features and Healing non standard and plot-relevant problems or something else.
  • With the doctors kit I made it so any checks related to it are medician checks but require you to have the doctors kit, should I still add doctors kit to the tool preferences.
  • I apologize if the lore/fluff is badly written, I don't have any experience with it
  • I have worked on the class and tried to fix general problems you pointed out, how is it now.
  • There are a bunch of red links now, I will fix them later

Exactly as EpicBoss did in his edit. The bit at the bottom we can leave for later but it will probs use an infobox. Doctor's kit is a tool so yes. It's fine, you can work on the lore and fluff in time, the lazy mans way to do this is the reword/work sections from the PHB and give them your own spin. It is better, however, a number of issues are still there, keep in mind that referencing you are using can only reference stuff in the 5e System Reference Document and that all references using the {{5e|(Reference)}} method should be capitalized and written exactly as in the 5e System Reference Document like with conditions, blinded instead of blind, else they will be red links or link incorrectly. In general:

  • Full sentences without brackets or abbreviations should be used. HD, HE, AC, etc.
  • Try to adhere to the Help:When to Italicize and Capitalize.
  • I highly recommend using references.
  • The headers should be ordered as seen in the Pyromancer (5e Class).
  • Listings unless linked to a numbering system like a class resource or levels should be alphabetical, such as the subclasses ordering.
  • Grammar errors, spelling(US>UK) errors, word duplicates, etc.
  • Avoid wording lore/fluff or features as if you were casually explaining.

Specifics:

  • The template {{Design Note|(your note)}} should be used for author notes.
  • The doctors kit, disinfect cantrip, etc, should all be a separate page and then linked to this one.
  • Doctors kit or at least a healers kit should be under the class tool proficiency.
